Retreat to a cozy, former fisherman’s home on one of the most picturesque lobster fishing coves on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. A beautiful 30 ft deck overlooks a sheltered cove with weathered fish shacks perched precariously on rock ledges. The property has beautiful, long established gardens, a natural launch-way for boating. (15 – 20 steps will take you from the deck to the high tide: perfect for kayaking, canoeing etc. and easy access to deep water anchorage). Stonehurst is just minutes from historic Lunenburg and Mahone Bay where you can dine in first class restaurants, browse in interesting shops featuring local artisans, visit museums, play golf, enjoy summer festivals or take strolls and enjoy the local architecture. Pristine, white sand beaches are within 30 minutes. Our vacation home is located in a community with interesting places to walk and experience Mother Nature (with blueberry picking in August). Stonehurst is an artist's dream. The house has modern appliances, including a dishwasher, washer/dryer, 2 bedrooms (Q/D), living room with double pullout bed, bathroom with a whirlpool tub and shower, powder room on the main floor, a kitchen /dining area and laundry/mud room. The house is fully equipped. All you need to do is settle in and relax.

Things to do

Take in the summer festivals in the nearby towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay (crafts, wooden boat, folk harbour, folk art etc) Enjoy golfing at courses in Lunenburg, Bridgewater and Chester. Spend a day at one of the numerous white sand beaches within an hour of the house. Shop at antique stores and interesting artisan shops in the nearby towns. Enjoy meals in restaurants overlooking historic Lunenburg Harbour or Mahone Bay or dine at home while enjoying a picture perfect view of the cove. Take water tours to explore the sea shore around Lunenburg and watch whales. Visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Relax with a book on the deck and enjoy some of the best scenery you will see anywhere.
