| Description |

This very private, cozy, cedar-sided bungalow is located in the
Village of Blue Rocks, a lobster village on the South Shore of Nova
Scotia. The only sound rolling up the hill is the sound of surf
splashing on the rocks. The house sits at the top of a two-acre
property abundant with white pine, spruce, lawns, blue berries bushes,
apple trees and a stream runs through it. From all windows, watch the
tall ships sail into Lunenburg harbour, or the waves crashing on The
Ovens across the bay, lobster boats darting about Cross Island, or
sailboats reaching out to sea. The wrap-around deck is equipped with
patio furniture and BBQ. Sit in this sunny spot and watch the
lobstermen down below on the Gut. The colourful little fish houses,
known as “fish stores” are piled high with traps and lines. The
lobster boats tied along the docks rock in the currents and pull at
their lines. This house sleeps eight. There are two bedrooms on the
main floor with 4-piece bath and queen beds. The living room has a
double sofa bed. Downstairs is a knotty pine, hardwood-floored,
studio/sitting room/bedroom with queen bed and ˝ bath. An enclosed
laundry room, sink, storage area and work bench, are also part of this
downstairs area. On the main floor, the oak kitchen and dining area
are open concept with views of bay, ocean, rolling lawns and spruce.
There is warm woodwork throughout, pine wainscoting, hardwood floors,
solid oak kitchen cabinets with baker’s shelves, oak-framed windows
and pine mantel. Two wood burning stoves add to the comfort of this
home. |
