STOREY HEAD / FISHERMAN'S BEACH, East Chezzetcook

Uses: Hiking

Time: 1.5 hrs

Length: 4 km

Difficulty: 2

Location: take exit 21 off Highway 107 at East Chezzetcook.  Turn right at the end of the ramp and drive all the way to the end of the road.  As the pavement ends, take the right fork out towards Fisherman's Beach.  Park at the end of the dirt road.

Description:  There is no actual trail here but this is a scenic walk along a rocky beach where the ocean is constantly shifting and moving this precarious headland.  At the end of the beach you can follow the rocky shoreline back towards the old fishing shacks.  Very few are still left standing.  If you're lucky you may catch a fisherman whose willing to share some tales about the ocean's savagery.  On the way back, take a short trek out around Storey Head.  This small piece of land probably does not have much time left before it washes into the sea.

Notes:  A large bell buoy had washed ashore in 1997 and might still be present

Rating: 2
