NORTH RIVER FALLS, (Cumberland County, near Parrsboro)Uses: Hiking Time: 30-45 minutes Length: trail from end of road is about 400m to the falls. Total trip is 800m. Difficulty: last section of trail to bottom of ravine is very steep but ropes have been provided to assist with decent. Location: proceed along highway 2 from Glenholme towards Parrsboro until you get to Moose River (about 26 km past the sharp turn in Bass River). Turn right onto Little York Road and continue along the dirt road. About 2.4 km in, branch left just before getting to a log house. Go another 300-400m and leave car in clearing or if you have 4-wheel drive, go another few hundred meters down the steep hill to the end of the road and park. From this clearing, there is a good trail, which leads to the waterfall at the end of the trail. Description: A heart-shaped gorge has been cut out by a spectacular waterfall at this location. The pool at the base of the falls appears to be very deep and looks like an excellent swimming hole.
