MOOSE RIVER FALLS, (near Parrsboro)Uses: Hiking Time: 1 hr Length: 400 m Difficulty: 5 Location: On Route 2, 12 km east of Parsborro town center at Moose River. There are two bridges about 200 meters apart. Between these two bridges is a dirt logging road, heading north up a long hill. Follow this road upwards for 2.3 km. At this point there is a slight level spot just before the last leg to the top of the hill. A large birch tree stands beside the road. (There is a lot of logging in the area so the tree may be eventually cut down. From here, head straight down over the hill until you come to the river and you should meet up close to the falls. Description: This is another of the spectacular Cobequid waterfalls located in this area and well worth visiting. Notes: The trek down to this falls is extremely steep and dangerous. Be very careful of loose rock and unstable bank. Only very experienced hikers should try to get to the bottom, but the view is well worth it if you are brave enough to scale down this cliff.
