INDIAN FALLS, (on the LaHave River)

Uses: Hiking

Time: 20 minutes (return)

Length: 1.5 km return

Difficulty: 1

Location: Follow Highway 103 to Mahone Bay (take Exit 11), then head north (away from Mahone Bay) toward Cornwall.  Proceed along this road for 16.8 km and then take the right branch toward Newburne.  Continue another 8 km to Newburne.  The trail to the falls is just past Veinotte Road (about 150 m) on the opposite side.  A rough road leads into the falls.

Description: At the end of the trail is a 25-foot rushing waterfall.  There is a footbridge crossing the LaHave River and a salmon fence located on the far side.

Notes: The road to the falls has recently been fixed up and it appears someone may be building adjacent to the falls.  This area may not be accessible to the public for much longer.
